We live in on the first floor of our apartment complex. Typically we always try for the top floor apartment, because there is more privacy, but at this place the first floor was the only thing available. Being that we are the the first floor (ground level), we have a patio door that opens up to the rest of the world.
Fortunately for Kitty, my adorable tortoiseshell cat, she loves being on the first floor. She avidly watches bunnies, squirrels and the little birds that have made a nest in our birdhouse. What I wasn’t expecting is who visited us the other day. It was a cat!

I was watching TV and sitting on the floor with my Kitty, when I felt like something was watching me. I looked over to see a big, fuzzy grey cat without a collar staring at us. I went to get up to see if I could pet it and the cat ran away. Too bad. Over the next week, this cat made nightly appearance. At one moment it looked like my cat was waiting for him. I decided that this cat needed a name. Flubber McGillins, I decided was going to be a name for this fat, grey fuzzy cat.
I have begun to lay out food and water for Flubs (nickname), but I never see him eat it. The food does disappear over night, but there is no way to tell if it’s him or raccoons, squirrels, etc.
He came by again last night and as usual peeped into our apartment again. I can never get close enough to him to pet him, however he seems somewhat relaxed around people. I guess I’ll have to keep trying.
If anyone has any suggestions or helpful hints on what to do, I’d love to hear some advice. For now, I’ll continue what I’m doing. Who knows, maybe my Kitty will have a new friend or boyfriend soon! 😉
